About QuietViewHome

QuietViewHome is an independent reference resource focused on soundproofing materials, acoustic insulation and noise reduction for residential buildings in the Czech Republic. The site covers practical topics: which materials perform well in which situations, how Czech building standards apply, and what occupants can realistically expect from different interventions.

What This Site Covers

Content on this site falls into three broad areas:

All content is written in English and refers to Czech building standards (ČSN) and European norms (EN ISO) where relevant.

Editorial Approach

Articles on this site aim to be specific rather than general. Where a claim is made about acoustic performance — an Rw value, a noise reduction figure — it is attributed to a defined test condition or a published source. Promotional language is avoided. Products are described by their physical and acoustic properties, not by brand claims.

The Czech residential building stock is diverse: pre-war stone and brick construction, panel-system blocks from the 1960s–1980s, and more recent timber-frame and reinforced concrete construction. The same acoustic intervention can produce very different results in different buildings, and the articles on this site try to reflect that variability rather than flatten it into generalisations.
